: Staphylococcus aureus
,

,
E. coli O157:H7, Salmonella
etc.
Stool samples from patients with symptoms similar to those of
Campylobacter
infection were tested using the NADAL Campylobacter Test. The obtained results were compared with those obtained from another immunochromatographic test (ImmunoCard STAT! CAMPY, Meridian Bioscience.
Sensitivity:>99%
Specificity: 98%
Test principles:
Campylobacter eventually present in human faeces are detected with the aid of monoclonal antibodies coated membrane and other antibodies bound to color particles. In case of positive result, specific antibodies present on the membrane react with the mixture conjugate and generate a colored line. Green line on the control (C) region of the test guarantees that a proper amount of the sample has been added to the specimen well and the test was run successfully.
Clinical significance:
Campilobacteriosis is an infectious disease caused by bacteria of the genus
Campylobacter
. Within 2 to 5 days after infection most of the patients experience diarrhea (sometimes bloody), abdominal pain and fever. The illness typically lasts one week. Sometimes
Campylobacter
infection is not manifested. In cases of compromised immune system, life-threatening infections develop.
