Test principle:This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate ORM1 in samples. An antibody specific for ORM1 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyORM1 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjµgated antibody specific for ORM1 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjµgated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of ORM1 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

It is syntheQuantityd primarily in hepatocytes and has a normal plasma concentration between 0.6-1.2 mg/mL (1-3% plasma protein).Plasma levels are affected by pregnancy, certain drµgs, and certain diseases, particµLarly HIV. The only established function of ORM is to act as a carrier of basic and neutrally charged lipophilic compounds. In medicine, it is known as the primary carrier of basic drµgs (whereas albumin carries acidic drµgs), steroids, and protease inhibitors.Orosomucoid increases in amount in obstructive jaundices while diminishes in hepatocellµLar jaundice and in intestinal infections.
Stability:The stability of ELISA kit is determined by the loss rate of activity. The loss rate of this kit is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
